Metallica

Metallica

Metallica are about to unleash their ninth studio album, Death Magnetic, on September 12th. While the intense, polished new sound may point toward the future, the cover’s original Metallica logo harks back to the band’s early albums.

You can download “The Day That Never Comes” and “My Apocalypse” from iTunes now, and thanks to the “Complete My Album” feature, get credit for them when you buy the whole album.

Tilly and the Wall

Tilly and the Wall

Tilly and the Wall are five people from Omaha, NE who became friends exploring music. The band operates as a collective with five songwriters, each with their own distinct musical voice, whose talents come together to form something extraordinary.

The band is known for their potent combination of sing-song boy-girl vocals, acoustic guitars, keyboard accents, and a tap dancer instead of a drummer, but this is their most sonically experimental album yet. They toyed with more instruments, voices, and bodily percussion than on previous efforts and have begun to forge a new musical path for themselves.

Weezer

Weezer

Weezer’s best albums have mostly been self-titled affairs, with back-to-basics songwriting that is both clever and infectious. Weezer (Red Album) continues this trend with ten solid tracks that are undeniably Weezer. Experimental? Not exactly, but sometimes more of the same is a good thing. Standout tracks: “The Greatest Man That Ever Lived”,”Automatic”.

Gabriella Cilmi

Gabriella Cilmi

Amazing. This should be one of the best selling albums of 2008. From the instantly likeable ‘Sweet About Me’ through a whole range of brilliantly produced songs, ‘Lessons To Be Learned’ is almost entirely brilliant.

Do yourself a favour - get this album - put Gabriella Cilmi on your iPod, then lie back all summer with the volume full blast and put a caterpillar in your soul.
